da jogodeouro: Jose Mourinho has already decided to drop some of the players who underperformed in Manchester United’s shock 1-0 loss against West Brom on Sunday, as per the Manchester Evening News.

da winzada777: That could spell bad news for the likes of Paul Pogba – valued at £81m by Transfermarkt – and Alexis Sanchez who may well find themselves benched at Wembley on Saturday when United take on Tottenham for a place in the final of this year’s FA Cup.

What’s the story, then?

Mourinho is not happy after that home defeat to the Baggies. He has reportedly said that he has already decided to exclude some players against Spurs after the West Brom debacle, stating that he can only judge players on their level of performance, not salary, transfer fee or anything else.

He also went on to say that he needs to see more consistency from his players and also that the game against Bournemouth on Wednesday represents an opportunity for some players to force themselves into the reckoning for the trip to Wembley.

He has apparently assured anyone who is “phenomenal” against the Cherries that they will keep their place for the Spurs game.

Bad news for the superstars

As much as United were broadly awful against West Brom, certain players such as Pogba and Sanchez must have been looking to build on the momentum generated by the comeback against Manchester City the week before but fell embarrassingly short.

Mourinho’s specific mentions of salary and transfer fee would also appear to be a hint that those two players are in the firing line, but in truth, this has to be a warning to the entire team.

It will now be very interesting to see what kind of team is selected against Bournemouth and if United play well and win, how many of those players ensure Mourinho – who has won the FA Cup just once in his career, in 2007 with Chelsea – keeps his word by reselecting them for the Spurs game three days later.
