  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Greenwood made the switch from Manchester United to Ligue 1 side Marseille in the summer after having been outcast by the Red Devils in 2023 because of his 'off-the-field issues'. The Englishman has had an impressive start to life under Roberto De Zerbi, and Marseille keeper Rulli has claimed Greenwood has the best shot at the club in training.

    WHAT RULLI SAID

Speaking to RMC Sport, Rulli said: "Who has the best shot? The best shot, I don't know. But the most impressive one is Mason's [Greenwood], without a doubt. I love his game, he's different, he's the kind of player who is increasingly rare in today's football. We must be happy and delighted to have him among us.

He added: "Besides, every day before a match, we practice penalties. It's okay… I'm keeping a good level and a good success rate [laughs]! The other time, I tested myself against Mason, Leonardo [Balerdi], Valentin [Rongier], Elye [Wahi], Jonathan [Rowe]… I made a few saves."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Greenwood had a quick start to life at Marseille and helped Les Phoceens take an early lead atop the Ligue 1 standings, however, that same level has not continued through the season. Nonetheless, Greenwood has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 13 Ligue 1 clashes so far this season, and could lead the club to a top-two finish as Paris Saint-Germain may already be too far out of reach with the French giants leading the league by seven points.
