    Birmingham faced relegation from the Championship despite registering a 1-0 win over Norwich City in the final game of the season. They needed a victory and a few favourable results from fellow relegation fighters to stay up. While they did their part, Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers all emerged triumphant in their respective fixtures.
