WHAT HAPPENED?
France Football caught up with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, and the Egyptian was asked to pick the best left-footed player. He was given several choices, starting with James Rodriguez, Ryan Giggs, Angel Di Maria, to Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, and the Reds star himself. Di Maria made his list for quite some time, beating the likes of Giggs, Gareth Bale and Mesut Ozil. His final two choices were between Maradona and Messi, and then between the Inter Miami star and himself.

Salah enjoyed a stellar campaign in the 2024-25 season and played a pivotal role in Liverpool winning their record-equalling 20th English title. He has appeared in 49 matches for the club across all competitions, where he has scored 33 goals and provided 23 assists. The 32-year-old is being tipped as one of the favourite contenders to win the Ballon d'Or this year.
