Galatasaray are lining up a January transfer bid for Arsenal fringe defender Andre Santos, according to Metro.

The Brazil international joined the north London club from Gala’s Turkish rivals Fenerbahce in 2011, but has not had a consistent run in Arsene Wenger’s first team.

With Kieran Gibbs getting the nod more often than not this season at left-back, Santos’s future at the club has coming under increasing speculation.

Galatasaray are keen to bolster their squad in the new year, and chief executive Lutfi Aribogan has admitted that there is interest in Santos.

“Andre Santos is one of the names we have on our list,” he told Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik.

“But we currently have no contact with his club and the player himself.”

Santos has not featured for Brazil since 2011, with new boss Mano Menezes opting to select other players instead of the Arsenal man.

The South American was also recently caught speeding to the Gunners’ training ground and as such has had something of an unsuccessful spell at the Emirates Stadium club.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail state that Jack Wilshere is ready to make his return to the Arsenal first-term.

The England international has not played in a competitive fixture for the Gunners in 15 months, missing all of last season due to back-to-back injuries.

However, Wilshere has made a return to training and has featured for the Arsenal under-21 side over the last couple of weeks.

It is believed that Wilshere has told Arsene Wenger that he is ready to face Norwich at the weekend if required.
